The good people over at one of my favorite World of Warcraft websites, MMO Champion, have just posted a video of the model for the new Dark Pheonix Mount. This mount is set to be available as a reward through Cataclysm's new guild leveling system. Once a player's guild has leveled up enough, they will be able to purchase this mount provided they have the funds and guild reputation required. Check it out:

Original Video: Goblin Starter Area
Rather than just writting about the Goblin starter area, I figured I would take a hand at putting together Druid Digest's first ever original video! The video is just a series of fun clips from the Goblin starter area and is spoiler free. Enjoy!

Cataclysm Alpha Leak Leak Video: Character Creation Screen
Here is another great leaked video from the Cataclysm Alpha. This one shows the Cataclysm Character Creation Screen which has been updated with Female Worgen and Goblin models as well as spell effects for various classes.
I think it is a big improvement and am excited to see the finished Worgen Female textures. What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
Also, don't forget to Follow the blog using the column on the right to stay up to date with the hottest Cataclysm leaks and updates.

Managed to lay my hands on another great video from the Cataclysm Alpha. This one features the new Orgrimmar and is a higher quality video than the one of Stormwind. Enjoy!
Cataclysm Alpha Leak Leak Video: Stormwind
Been looking all week for decent Cataclysm Alpha videos and finally managed to find one that appears to be legitimate. The quality is not perfect, but it is still pretty awesome. I present to you, the new Stormwind:

Hot Video: Warcraft Boom De Yada
World of Warcraft has gotten the Discovery Channel treatment with the latest video from Irdeen Productions. This parody of the popular "I Love the Whole World" song from a recent line of Discovery Channel commercials features several recognizable faces from around the Warcraft universe singing about what they love (and hate). This one is worth more than one watch through:

World of Warcraft Patch 3.3 Trailer
Since all the official World of Warcraft website have become barely accessible, I figured I would embed the 3.3 Trailer here for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
Here is hoping that the servers come back online sooner rather than later. I know I am eager to see what Icecrown Citadel has to offer.

Hot Video: Invincible Mount and Perky Pug
The good folks over at MMO Champion have just released a set of videos featuring content data-mined from the upcoming World of Warcraft Patch 3.3. In the first video, we can catch a glimpse of a new mount being added to the game, the flying horse Invincible. In life, Invincible was Arthas' loyal steed. In death, he is a crazy looking mount you can nab in Icecrown Citadel. Odds are Invincible will be the Mimiron's Head of Icecrown, but no details have been released as of yet. Enjoy the video:
The next video is of a new pet being introduced in 3.3, the Perky Pug. This pet will be available as a reward for participating in World of Warcraft Patch 3.3's random dungeon feature. Be sure to watch this one to the end as the little dog's funniest animation lies at the end of the clip.

Mr. T in World of Warcraft: Really!?!
Earlier this month, Blizzard unveiled the first in a new series of World of Warcraft commercials featuring the largely irrelevant Mr. T. Feel free to check out the commercial below:
The second commercial was unveiled just two days ago and is already circulating on around the airwaves. Here it is:
Aside from being relatively silly and based entirely on another World of Warcraft commercial which aired nearly two years ago (check it out below), the Mr. T ads are relatively harmless.
Where things get bizarre, however, is the in game impact of Blizzard's latest advertising campaign. To coincide with the release of the first commercial, Blizzard introduced a new item to the World of Warcraft: the Mohawk Grenade. The Grenades can be obtained from NPCs positioned in Azeroth's starter areas. Anyone caught in the blast radius of one of these grenades will find themselves looking a bit like a college mascot wearing a giant "Nightelf Mowhawk" head.
The creation of the Mohawk Grenade is a bit of an odd move for Blizzard. Obviously, it is not World of Warcraft's first in game promotion. I am sure we all remember battling Mountain Dew powered robots not too long ago. What sets the Mohawk campaign apart, however, is that the promotion is for World of Warcraft itself. An in game promotion only reaches consumers who have already purchased Blizzard's product. Why Blizzard would devote its limited resources towards such a project I do not know.
The Mohawk Grenade is also another indication of Blizzard's increasing commercialization of Azeroth through both meta-game promotions and micro-transactions. It began with paid "character services" such as name changes and paid transfers, and continues with race changes, faction changes, and likely eventually class changes. Even more marked is the recent addition of purchasable in game pets including the Pandaren Monk and Lil' KT.
Most have speculated, and rightfully so, that most of these changes are the result of the Blizzard - Activision merge and "greedy Activision's" desire to squeeze every possible cent out of World of Warcraft. If that is the case, no one can really fault Activision for attempting to maximize their profit. It is a business after all. One does have to wonder though if at some point, the commercialization of Azeroth will cross a line and the increased micro transactional revenue will be offset by the attrition of an increasingly alienated player base. I guess only time will tell. In the meantime, however, Mr. T's Nightelf Mohawks have taken root in Azeroth, like it or lump it.

Warlock and Mage Tier 10 Videos
Earlier today, MMO Champion posted a Tier 10 Mage and Warlock Preview including both images and videos of the new armor sets. Check out the videos and commentary below:
Warlock
Once again, Warlocks have a great looking gear set on the way. Though the shoulders are a recycled model and not very "cloth looking," the helm is a grand slam. It has an awesome The Nightmare Before Christmas feel to it that makes it unfortunate that we likely will be unable to get our hands on it before Halloween. The particle effects are also interesting with dark black specs and a light cloud of darkness floating around the Warlock's head. Though it may lack the demonic wings of Tier 6, it is certainly one of the best looking sets Blizzard has put together.
Mage
Where the Warlock Tier 10 set is a unbridled success, the Mage set is more than a little disappointing. First and foremost, it looks nothing like a "Mage set." The color patterns seem almost tribal where the models look much more like leather, mail, or plate than cloth. The shoulders appear metallic and give off a faint green glow to match the green glowing gems which adorn the rigid looking robes. Why Blizzard elected green effects, which tend to indicate nature or fel magic, rather than white, blue, or even red is confusing at best. The helm is perhaps the biggest disaster and would seem more at home atop a Shaman, Druid, or even a Paladin than a Mage. I am not certain what kind of aesthetic Blizzard was shooting for with the Mage Tier 10 set, but I am pretty sure they have missed the mark.

Death Knight Tier 10 Video
MMO Champion has posted a Tier 10 Death Knight Preview. Since the original posting, it has been updated with a video. Check out the video and my thoughts on the set below:
The Death Knights are getting a pretty attractive set in World of Warcraft patch 3.3. Aside from the awkwardly large gem atop the helm, the set likens back to the intensity of the older Tier 3 Warrior set with the perfect amount of Lich King influence. The set will make players look like a Death Knight should, dark and powerful. It does not get much better than that.

Hot Video: Fake Warcraft Movie Trailer
There are a ton of great fake Warcraft Movie trailers floating around these days and this is one of them. Reaching beyond Warcraft cinema scenes to other videos, this compilation is more fleshed out than most. Major kudos to its creator Bloodrunsclear and here's hoping you enjoy it as much as I did.

Classic Video: Here Without You
Here is a dusty video from the World of Warcraft vault. The film is a very well executed tale about love, loss, and the undead. If you have ever had the desire to feel sympathy for the Foresaken, this video should do the trick. Do not worry, the sound takes a little while to kick in.
For the more emotional viewers, you may want to have a tissue ready. Well done Dimoroc.

Classic Video: C'Thun
Below is a clip from the end of Ahn'Quiraj: The Movie. It is basically a bunch of clips of the C'Thun boss encounter set to relatively bearable techno music. I would put up the whole movie, but certain parts of the early soundtrack can cause errors for Windows users. If you have not had the pleasure of completing AQ40, his video will definitely give you a taste of just how epic the instances final encounter was. You've got to love the Old Gods.

The Real Final Boss for Trial of the Crusader?
In my post 3.2 PTR Now Open, I speculated that forces of the Lich King would derail the Trial of the Crusader, the new 10/25 man raid to be released in 3.2. With Anub'Arak now available for public testing it is official that the instance involves more than the beasties gathered by the Crusaders. Check out a video of the famous Crypt Lord taken from the PTR below:
Feel free to call me paranoid, but I am fairly confident that Blizzard still has at least one Ace in its collective 3.2 sleeve. As interesting as Anub'Arak is lore wise, the encounter seems to lack a certain something players have come to expect from an raid instance's final boss. Also, the encounter is currently far too easy and though I am certain that will change before release, I doubt that even a beefed up Anub'Arak is the greatest challenge the Trial of the Crusader or Trial of the Grand Crusader has to offer. It would also be rather odd for Blizzard to introduce a challenge related super raid boss in 3.1 (Algalon) and then not do the same in 3.2.
My prediction: There will be another unlockable raid boss in the Trial of the Crusader and/or Trial of the Grand Crusader instances beyond Anub'Arak. If I had to guess, end-game raiders would be wise to study up on Faceless Ones.
